Lovely stay at this old charming hotel in the centre. The staff were welcoming and very helpful and food was delicious.

I had a pleasant stay at The George Hotel. The location is excellent and very convenient, especially for visiting Stonehenge. The room was clean and comfortable, and the heating with adjustable temperature was a big plus during winter. Breakfast was served on time and was decent. Overall, a good value stay with a great location.

The reception desk and the restaurant/bar are staffed by the same team, so check-in can take quite a long time - around 10 to 30 minutes. In my case, despite having fully prepaid the booking, the front desk initially said they could not find the payment due to a system issue. This caused some back and forth and took over half an hour to resolve. In the end, it was confirmed to be a system problem on their side and the issue was properly handled. One important suggestion: I would recommend booking directly through the hotel's official website rather than third-party platforms, as the third-party price was around £30 more expensive per night compared to the hotel's own website. Overall, a decent stay with good facilities and location, but the check-in process and booking system could be improved.
